From July 26 to August 1, the Experimental Aircraft Association held its annual Airventure Event at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, WI. Hundreds of thousands of people flocked to the normally quiet town to attend the event.

Every year companies, big and small, set up displays on the airport grounds and showcase their newest products.

ERAU competes with unmanned vehicles 1

LB 231 houses ERAU's Autonomous Systems Lab and the Robotics Association at Embry-Riddle. Each year, teams compete in a number of competitions for autonomous vehicles (that is, vehicles with no human driver) on land, sea and air. Embry Riddle Aeronautical University is currently the only university that competes in all 5 of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) student competitions.

For the past year and a half, GCSU has been working with the Georgia Department of Transportation, as well as the city of Milledgeville, to install a new red light at the intersection of West Campus Drive and the 441 bypass.

After originally being approved, many budget cuts and discussions about the light have led to the conclusion it is unnecessary.

Brinegar has been attending GCSU for four years, but the interest seems to rely not on what he is doing but rather on what he has done.

I had no idea what to expect when I stepped onto campus, bags in tow, early Thursday morning. Check-in was hectic but fun - new faces flashed by at a record pace as I ran around campus and dragged all my stuff up to my room. Somehow I managed to squeeze the six suitcases and eight boxes worth of stuff into my room, and, surprisingly, the room actually looked organized.
