Career Services announces Expo companies
Issue date: 10/14/08 Section: Campus News
On November 5th and 6th, Career Services will be hosting a Career/Expo day. There will be over 100 employers registered and several thousand job seekers expected to attend. How can you stand out among this huge group of people? Prepare in advance
What can you do to prepare in advance? Log into your EagleHire Network accoount. Mouse over the "Employers" on the top navigation bar and select "Employer Search". Under "Industry/Career Expo Attendee" select "2008" and hit "Search". You can also narrow down your "Career Focus" if you choose to. It is recommended that you do some research online to gain knowledge of what the company does and how you might fit in to the organization and what opportunities are available. Also keep in mind that not all opportunities are advertised on the companies' website.
It is also important that you prepare a resume and cover letter in advance of the event. Make sure to dress in professional business attire and have an understanding of business etiquette.
