TFO to host field day

Issue date: 11/17/09 Section: SGA
Task Force One (TFO) has been very busy this semester. Its officers and general members have been working hard to put together their bi-annual social event. Therefore, they are excited to announce that this upcoming Saturday, Nov. 21, there will be a Field Day. The event will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and take place on the West Lawn.
The theme of this event is "Carnival." Some of the activities planned on being incorporated are a volleyball tournament, dodgeball tournament, jousting inflatable, relay races, tug of war and much more. Barbecue, cotton candy and popcorn will also be served.
In the spirit of cooperation, Task Force One will be joining forces with ERRSA, the Asian Student Union, the Chinese Students and Scholars Association and the ERAU Music Company. Each organization will not only be helping TFO with the event, but they will be promoting their organizations.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the event will be the prize raffle. Every time an individual or team wins an event, they will win a certain number of raffle tickets (depending on the difficulty of the event). At the end of the event, participants will be able to play their tickets and win great prizes. Prizes will range from residence hall necessities to food, and the top prize will be a bike.
Best of all, this event is free to every single member of the ERAU community. It is encouraged to sign up early as well. Any individual or team signing up early will receive extra raffle tickets. Sign-ups began on Monday, Nov. 16, and will run until the day before the event. You have nothing to lose!!
TFO is the representative body of first-year students, which includes first-year transfer students. The main goal of this organization is to address the concerns of those whom it represents and bring those problems to the attention to the Student Government Association. TFO welcomes any new members interested in either learning about the SGA or improving campus life for their fellow classmates (or both!). New members can get involved right away. Meetings are held every Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. in COB 118. Come out and have a fun time with TFO!
