SENIOR LUKE MARICIC AND Sophomore Zander Woodforth-Smith finished the fall season with wins over NCAA Division I oponents at the Auburn Fall Classic.

Luke Maricic and Zander Woodford-Smith each claimed singles wins against NCAA I opponent as the Auburn Fall Classic came to an end on Sunday at the City of Auburn/Auburn University Yarborough Tennis Center.

Maricic went up against the University of South Carolina's Ivan Cresson and walked away with a 6-3, 6-3 win. Woodford-Smith's match against the Gamecocks' Harry Menzies was a much tighter match, but Woodford-Smith battled hard to emerge with a 6-4, 7-6 (6) win.

Cresson and teammate Chris Sheehan got the better of Maricic and Charlie Rice in doubles, winning 8-5 and South Carolina's Diego Cubas held of ERAU sophomore Peter Francis 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 in singles.

Sunday's match-up marked the end of the Eagles' fall competitive season. The Blue and Gold will now shift its focus to preparing to defend its Sun Conference title in the spring of 2010.
