The beginning of each semester brings the Activities Fair that takes place on Legacy Walkway, where many of the student organizations on campus gather to get their name out and recruit new members. This semester the event took place on Tuesday, Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At the event there were 111 different clubs and organizations that participated. The organizations that were represented included the different divisions of the Student Government Association, the Fraternities and Sororities on campus, and many different types of interest groups and clubs.

Aaron Clevenger, Director of Student Activities, stated, "The Activities Fair showcases many of our student organizations allowing them to recruit new members. In addition new, returning, and transfer students are able to explore what opportunities there are for getting involved here on campus. With over 160 student organizations on the Daytona Beach campus there are groups that match most any interest."

Each of these groups had tables set up along the walkway where they were able to showcase their organization's activities and who they are.

"For the Acabellas it [the Activities Fair] gives new and old members a chance to meet each other," commented Aline Maurice, a member of the Acabellas.

At the end of the day Aaron Clevenger stated, "I thought it was a great success and I heard from many student leaders that they were happy with the attendance as well as the number of new, returning, and transfer students that seemed interested in getting involved in organizations this year."

For those who were interested in joining different activities it was a time that was set aside where students could ask questions while on their way to class or between classes. Any student who would still like information on any of the clubs or organizations on campus can visit the Student Activities Office in the Student Center room 106 or can visit Student Activities' new web site at erauinvolvement.com.
