To those of you new to Embry-Riddle, the NBAA OSG is a student group that allows our members to pursue their interests in all aspects of the multi-billion dollar Corporate Aviation Industry. In other words regardless of your major, once you are interested in the world of corporate aviation, the NBAA OSG is the student group for you!
For the Spring semester our President, Megha Bhatia, has outlined an exciting agenda aimed at providing our members with various opportunities to get more involved in corporate aviation and in student life at the Daytona Beach Campus. The initial steps in this agenda already have taken place with our partnership the Caribbean Student Association, Diversity & Women's Center, ERAU Alumni Office in the Haiti Relief Drive. We at the NBAA OSG have the victims of this terrible disaster in our prayers. We would also like to encourage our fellow students to continue dropping off non-perishable goods and items of clothing at our drop boxes located at the ERAU Alumni Association, Doolittle Hall, Volunteer Network Office, Student Village, Flight Line, Hunt Library and Diversity and Women's Center.
Officially, we kicked off the Spring semester with our first general meeting on Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, with special guest speaker, Tim Lucas (Owner-operator of Chick-Fil-E). Our second meeting will be on the Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, in COB 114 at 4 p.m. Throughout the semester we will be hosting a number of events both social - including a Volley Ball Tournament and Barbecue - and business - including a panel discussion and social with departmental faculty.
The Spring Corporate Aviation Panel is tentatively scheduled for March 25, 2010, and will follow a format similar to our successful panel discussion last fall. Like the last panel discussion, we at the NBAA will be looking to assemble a panel that represents a wide cross section of the Corporate Aviation sector to share their knowledge with you.
The NBAA OSG also has openings in the following committees; Marketing, Alumni Relations and Philanthropic Outreach, Industry/Academic Research, Website and Newsletter. In addition if you are interested in becoming a member or just want to get a better idea of what the NBAA OSG is about we encourage you to come to our meeting on Monday, Feb. 8, 2010!
